Azure Data Centre lift and shift by AccTech
Move away from on-remise applications to the more convenient and cost-effective Azure option.
Over the past 3 years, AccTech Systems has been provisioning and managing Azure Cloud based applications utilising Northern and Western Europe Azure regions. The new Azure Data Regions in Africa is not new for us, we simply say: “Welcome home guys”.
So what does a local Cloud Region mean?
A region is a set of data centers deployed within a latency-defined perimeter and connected through a dedicated regional low-latency network. With more global regions than any other cloud provider. Azure gives customers the flexibility to deploy applications where they need to. Azure is generally available in 54 regions around the world, with plans announced for 10 additional regions.
We did a latency speed test over a 2 hour period testing Sage 300 and associated modules on the Azure Platform from AccTech Pretoria via the West Europe (Dublin) data centers. We then accessed the same Sage 300 and associated modules in South Africa North (Johannesburg) and came to the conclusion that the connections is 4 times faster on a 100mb line.
South Africa is an Azure Geography:
A geography is a discrete market, typically containing two or more regions, that preserves data residency and compliance boundaries. Geographies allow customers with specific data-residency and compliance needs to keep their data and applications close. Geographies are fault-tolerant to withstand complete region failure through their connection to our dedicated high-capacity networking infrastructure.
How does AccTech and it’s Alliances help you to lift:
Our Alliance Partners help you connect through major regions in Africa to the Local Data Regions and the world.
