[Johannesburg, 9 June 2005] – Premier Softline Sage ERP Accpac 2004 CRM business partner of the year, AccTech Systems, will assist Malawian company ACE (Agricultural Commodity Exchange) to set up a Web-based commodity portal using Sage CRM’s hosted system solutions.

“ACE’s objective is to establish a regional commodity exchange for the mutual benefit of producers and consumers,” says Ian Goggin, systems consultant for ACE. “We want to successfully facilitate the marketing and procurement of commodities through the auspices of the exchange.”

Keith Fenner, director of solutions and business development at AccTech Systems, explains that members of the exchange would appoint brokers to conduct business on their behalf, trading any agricultural commodity including cotton, maize, sorghum, soya and wheat. The brokers will in turn charge an agreed broking fee for these services.

“Sage CRM will manage the back-office registration of all brokers. It will also provide these brokers and suppliers with bidding and sales history on the relevant parties participating on a specific deal,” says Tertius Zitzke, managing director of AccTech Systems.

ACE also opted to use the Sage CRM Web self-service module, providing brokers with a user name and password, which allows them to capture trading applications directly onto the CRM system. Security is managed on the server, saving ACE time and money in the initial registration period of the trading initiative.

“The entire solution will be running a hosted environment,” says Fenner. “With ACE opting for a Web-hosted solution at Sage ERP Accpac Online Africa, they are eliminating the need to purchase expensive hardware, saving both time and money. Without needing to implement a network infrastructure and maintaining and upgrading the CRM solution in-house, they will benefit from the advanced solutions at a fraction of the cost.”
